Head down to the Hildreds Shopping Centre on Thursday 25th June for some fun and entertainment and help raise money for charity at the same time.
The centre is putting on a ‘seaside” themed event from 11am to 3pm with activity including live performances by a Punch and Judy artist and costume characters supplied by Gary Starr.
And the excitement doesn’t end there! ‘Jack out the Box’ will also be at The Hildreds with a circus workshop teaching people how to juggle and work the diablo as well as other skills.
The aim of this ‘One Great Day’ initiative is to help raise money for Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital and local children’s charity, St Andrew’s Hospice in Grimsby.
Steve Andrews, centre manager, explained:
We are really proud to not only be taking part in this initiative but also being able to support two very worthwhile charities at the same time. We are hoping to raise lots of money which will be split between Great Ormond Street Hospital and the local charity of choice.
There will be plenty going on for everyone to enjoy. Our very own Jolly Fisherman and Town Crier will also be here for people to meet. We will have Victorian inspired peep boards that visitors will be able to pop their heads through for the full seaside flavour.
The Skegness Partnership, ambassadors and representatives from Great Ormond Street Hospital and St Andrews Hospice will be at ‘One Great Day’ to meet and talk to visitors.
Young Calli Cheetham, a local patient from St Andrews Hospice, will also be joining us and we look forward to welcoming her to The Hildreds.
