Wearing novelty jumpers, baking cakes and running 10K races aren’t normally part of the day job for a solicitor but staff at Andrew & Co LLP have done all this and more in aid of their Charity of the Year.
They have raised over £860 for the Lincolnshire Rural Support Network (LRSN) which provides support to farming and rural people during periods of anxiety, stress and problems relating to their families and businesses. As well as a helpline, the charity runs a drop-in advice service at Louth Livestock Market, Newark Livestock Market and Spalding Auction. It also offers home visits and health screening. Partner at Andrew & Co LLP Julie Bailey said: “We were delighted to support the LRSN during 2014 and hope that the money we raised will enable them to continue the good work they do in rural communities. “We believe it’s really important to help local charities as they provide vital services to people who would otherwise have nowhere else to turn. Also, many of their staff are volunteers who give up their time to help others and this is one way we can show them how much we appreciate what they do. “We hope we can go on to raise even more money for the Lincolnshire MS Therapy Centre which is our Charity of the Year for 2015.” Alison Twiddy, Project Manager at LRSN, added: “No one ever knows when something is going to come along to throw their life into disarray and we need to be there to respond and be that port of call in times of crisis. “Every year our nurses deliver over 1,400 health checks and our volunteers help over 100 farming and rural families with problems ranging from suicide to debt and from family breakdowns to tenancy. We will make sure we do justice to the efforts of all the team at Andrew & Co LLP and will put the money raised to good use.”
